"This method cleans an incontinent patient faster than traditional methods. Caregivers and nurses have reduced direct contact with feces, lowering the risk of exposure to harmful pathogens. Traditional cleaning methods often cause discomfort for patients. Wet wipes can be cold on the skin and often smear feces. Rags, towels, and washcloths can also smear feces and are rough on the skin. Bedpans are uncomfortable to sit on, and positioning the patient on the bedpan is laborious for the caregiver. Bedpans are also difficult to clean. While there are mouth and bath basins, there is no official basin specifically designed to wash a patient's anal area after they poop."
